Hurjaruuth and Janina Rajakangas Project are starting a new children's performance group.
We are looking for children aged 8–11 who want to learn, move and perform in professional dance performances. No previous dance experience is needed. What matters most is a willingness to learn and the courage to perform.
What does the group do?
The group rehearses on Mondays from 17.00 to 18.30, starting in January 2027, at Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth at the Cable Factory (Tallberginkatu 1 A 2nd floor, Helsinki). In the future, the group will perform in dance performances on an irregular basis. The first performances will take place on 12–14 April 2027 in Turku.
The group is taught in Finnish. Fluent Finnish is not required, as long as the child is happy to take part in a Finnish-speaking group.
What do we expect?
Participation is free of charge. We expect the child to attend rehearsals reliably and to commit to the upcoming performances. The child must have valid insurance that covers leisure activities. The group does not provide insurance for participants.
How to apply
First, register for the audition. The audition takes place over two days, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 2026, from 15.00 to 16.30 at Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth. Children attend both days. There are 30 places. By 13 November 2026 we will email everyone who registered to let them know who has been invited to the audition.
Register by 10 November 2026 via this form.
