“Into the Wild” is a satirical, physical and visual theatre performance that through dark comedy guides us to restoring our relationship with nature, exploring the ambivalent relationship humans have with the natural world.
“Into the Wild” is a satirical, physical and visual theatre performance that through dark comedy guides us to restoring our relationship with nature, exploring the ambivalent relationship humans have with the natural world.
The performance revolves around modern humans, survivors, hikers, berry pickers – you and me – who, coated in forever chemicals, trudge through birch forests and swamps, a Thermacell in our left hand, a mushroom basket in our right, a panda bear tucked under our arm and toilet paper poetry dangling from our pants. Two relentless narrators explore taboo topics related to nature, guiding us from environmental destruction, species extinction and pulp mills to healing rituals and complete silence, and where our desire for comfort can take us under just the right conditions.
Language of the performance is Finnish and English. Age limit 13 years. Warnings: blinking lights and wet hay.

Hurjaruuth Stage (Tallberginkatu 1 A, 2nd floor) is located at the Cable Factory, a well-known cultural centre. Read more about how to get there.

Festival-Bar is located next to the Hurjaruuth Stage (Cable Factory A staircase, 2nd floor foyer). Please note that we only accept card payments. Opening hours on the main page of the festival.
Hurjaruuth Stage facilities and services
Coatroom: In the corridor between Hurjaruuth’s foyer and the stage there is a free self-service coatroom. NB! Our theatre is not responsible for any items or clothes left in the coatroom.
Toilet facilities: Next to the coatroom there is an accessible toilet with childcare facilities and other unisex toilets.
More on accessibility: There is wheelchair seating available at the front of the audience (2 slots). We do not have an induction loop. Assistant seating available free of charge. We are a Disability Card service provider.
