Open call for Red Pearl Clown Festival 2026

Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth will host its next Red Pearl Clown Festival 20.–28.3.2026 in Helsinki, Finland. The feminist clown festival aims to representing female clowns and other diverse minorities of clownery with a focus on performances that can also be norm-critical and political.

Open call for the festival program 2026 is now open. Apply with your performance or performative concept with this form 1.9.2025 at the latest. We would be excited to hear from clowns from Finland and all around the world!

The festival program is curated by the festival’s Clown Council (in the photo). The members of the Council are director of Kallo Collective, clown Jenni Kallo, dancer-choreographer and clown Kaisa Niemi, clown Gabriela Muñoz and from Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth, choreographer and general director Jyrki Karttunen, audience outreach worker Pauliina Aladin, executive producer Miia Pajarinen and sound manager Tatu Vanhatalo.
